Part 8: Creating your first Popup

From your Formtoro Dashboard, click “Forms” from the left menu

Then click “Create Form”

We’ve made this incredibly easy leveraging part 2’s design that has been battle tested to provide an optimal starting point.

This will be our prototype perfect form, if there are steps you don’t need like phone number or extra questions, you can delete them.

If you’d like to reorder questions, you can drag and drop them in the steps menu on the left.

General housekeeping, you’ll want to put in your links to Terms of Service and Privacy on the steps where you collect Identifying data, this will be the email and/or phone number steps.

You’ll also want to make sure any terms of the offer or expiration dates are clearly listed AT THE TIME of opt-in.

Look and Feel of the forms

Less is more, in all our testing text only, high contrast forms out perform busy forms with lots of images, the goal is a signup and data, not distraction.

All forms can have themes and are highly configurable.

Clicking the theme button will allow you to select from basic existing themes or customize your own.

When you click “Customize” you’ll be presented with options to make the form to match the theme of your branding.

Global styles follows a hierarchy, it is the default for your entire form, however, the below options in purple squares if customized will override the global values.

Feel free to play around with designing your form’s feel, but remember simple tends to win out.

Once you’ve made your edits, Click “Save Theme”

From there you will be prompted to Name your new theme and then click Create New Theme.

Your theme will now apply.

To make any global changes, open the theme again, then click customize while your theme is selected, you can make any updates then resave.
