Auto Apply Coupon Codes and Reroute Dismiss behaviors (OPTIONAL)

The following features were developed to work hand in hand, although they aren’t required to be used together. We do recommend that you do use them together.

Formtoro now supports auto-apply coupon codes both unique and generic.

Generic are created immediately, whereas unique are created approximately 9 seconds after an email is provided.

We also support the ability to reroute your “dismiss” behavior via “X” icon or button with “dismiss” action to any step in your flow.

Behind the scenes we’ve built logic to account for micro-optins etc.

Here’s a video demo overview: https://youtube.com/watch?v=V5I_MIEZr60

How to set this up:

  1. Open an existing form or create a new one

  2. Click on the coupon code field

  1. Turn on “Auto Apply” in the right column, note you can also hide the code at this step which we recommend to avoid confusion of people trying to cut and paste or thinking they have to

  1. If you’re using a unique coupon code, make sure it’s selected from the discount code drop down

  1. Now that we have the auto apply for discount code added, we’ll need some logic to let people know that it’s been applied

  2. Click the “Form” tab on the right hand side

  1. Then scroll down and find “Dismiss Behavior”

  1. Select “Go to Step”

  1. Then select the step you would like people to go to when then hit a dismiss action, most of the time this should be the thank you step or the step with the coupon code

Special notes on this

We have behind the scenes logic setup whereas once you are redirected to a step from the dismiss action, the dismiss action will function as normal.

Dismiss is honored on the first and last steps regardless of any pre-set dismiss action.

Additionally, we have logic built in that requires someone to submit data before being routed to the step, meaning that if someone does a micro-opt-in but then dismisses on the first step, the form will be dismissed.

We think we accounted for most of the edge cases for this behavior.
