Let’s set up some easy exclusions on our welcome series.

  1. Locate your existing flow within Klaviyo

  1. Search for your flow name

  1. Find the proper flow

  1. Click the three dots on the right side then click “Clone”

  1. Then “Clone to this account” and click “Continue” at the bottom

  1. Name your cloned form, make sure the email list matches, then click “Clone Flow”

  1. Once the flow is cloned, you’ll see it in your list

  1. Click on the new flow, then click on the “Trigger” step

  1. We’re going to add a profile filter

  1. Then click “Add profile filter” then select “Properties about someone” from the drop down

  1. Then search for “ft_signup_coupon” then select the value

  1. Next change “equals” to “contains”

  1. Then enter the prefix of your unique coupon code “WEL10-[CODE]” so it looks like this when you’re all done and click “Save”

  1. Now go back to your original flow that you cloned and setup the reverse rule on the trigger so that people without ft_signup_coupon do not get the fall back welcome flow

TESTING TRIGGERS - Klaviyo now allows for quickly testing triggers

  1. Click Trigger, then “Preview” in the Trigger option in the right column, make sure your rule is set

  1. From there you’ll need to enter the email address of your test profile “ft+[company]@formtoro.com

  1. Then your test will come back

  1. Similarly this same profile should fail on your original Flow if done correctly

Now we just need to place the code in the new email flow

  1. Open the emails you wish to edit then when you have the text selected, click personalization

  1. Search for “ft_signup_coupon”

  1. Then click “Insert”

  1. It will now be inserted into your email

  1. Click “Done” in the top left corner

  1. Then click “Preview & test” in the upper right corner

  1. Click search for a profile

  1. Then type in the test email address you sent in to preview the code in the email, most tests should be “ft_[company]@formtoro.com” when we push them in

  1. You’re coupon code will now appear in the email
