Formtoro integrates with Hubspot via Zapier

This has actually been an integration that’s existed for a while but recently we’ve been getting a lot more requests for it.

So here’s how it works.

  1. Open the form that you want to link up to Hubspot

  2. Once you’ve got it situated the way you want, navigate to the form tab in the top right then click on integrations

  1. From there, look for Zapier in the lower left and give it a click

  1. A modal will popup asking you if you want to create a zap, click it

  1. This will open Zapier with access, click the accept button

  1. This will drop you on your Zaps folder, we’re looking for the “Create” button in the upper right, click that guy for me

  1. You’ll want “New Zap”

  1. Click Trigger

  1. Type in “Formtoro” then select the non dev version

  1. Formtoro will open in the right column, we need to click the event and we’ll select “Form Submitted”

  1. Click “Continue at the bottom

  1. Next, you’ll be prompted to “Choose” your account

If no accounts show hit “Connect a new account” if this is your first time this is likely the action you’ll take, it will connect your accounts up automatically when clicking

Then hit continue at the bottom like the previous step.

  1. Use the drop down on the next step to select your Project

  1. Then use the drop down to select your Form then hit “Continue” at the bottom

  1. Click to the next step and you can “Test Trigger”

  1. The form will be found and populated with Dummy Data, this is to ensure that there is a value for every question in the case of logic mapping or otherwise

Click “Continue with selected record”

  1. This will prompt the second trigger which you should search for “Hubspot”/or any other integration you’re looking to integrate with

  1. For the purposes of most Formtoro integrations you’ll want to create a contact

  1. Hit continue at the bottom, you’ll then be asked to link your Hubspot Account, just follow the prompts

  1. Select your account and hit continue

  1. If you’re mapping to an existing field then just search it

  1. If you’ve created a field and it’s not showing up go to the bottom and click on “Additional properties to retrieve” then type in the fields that you’ve created (we highly recommend using “ft_” before any field created for mapping that doesn’t previous exist in the system

  1. Click to map your fields appropriately, repeat with fields as necessary

  1. Hit continue, and you’ll see all your linked fields  with the option to send in values

  1. As these are dummy values they won’t make much sense, so our advice is to go to your form and add a URL rule via the audience tab that requires a URL to have #test after it.

That way you can go to that URL and run a test on the form and push data into Hubspot.

  1. When you push things into Hubspot, you’ll want to personalize the way that custom profile fields appear. Click “Actions” then “Customize Properties”

From there a modal will open

  1. Click “Add properties” then search for “ft” and all your previously added formtoro properties will show up and you can click them and then reorder them

  1. Tada! You’ve done it!
